Uroš Šanjević

Uroš Šanjević je rođen 1980. godine u Beogradu. Završio je osnovne studije lepih umetnosti (odsek za staklo) na Gerrit Rietveld Akademiji u Amsterdamu, a diplomu mastera istog usmerenja, stekao je na Korejskom Nacionalnom univerzitetu umetnosti u Seulu, Južna Koreja.

Učestvovao je na raznim izložbama i programima širom sveta, uključujući izložbe u Stedlijk muzeju savremene umetnosti u Amsterdamu, stalni je član mreže Platoon Kunsthalle, sa brojnim publikacijama u časopisima, novinama, knjigama i na internetu. Poseduje širok spektar radnog iskustva u oblasti umetnosti i kulture: bio je umetnički direktor kulturnog centra na ostrvu Nami, Južna Koreja, zatim pomoćnik scenografa u brojnim pozorišnim predstavama, a radio je i scenografiju za Beijing Expo 2008.

Trenutno je posvećen istraživanju i pretvaranju drevnog papira uz pomoć Ebru tehnike (tzv. „The Art of Marbling„), u kombinaciji sa digitalnom  štampom, u savremenom izrazu njegovog duhovnog istraživanja i stečenog znanja iz šamanskih iskustava koja potiču iz Brazila i Perua.

Uroš Šanjević (b. 1980, Belgrade, Serbia) finished studying his Bachelor of Fine Arts, with his focus on glass studies, at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, with a Master’s degree in the same studies from the National Korean University of Arts in Seoul, South Korea.

Šanjević has participated in various exhibitions and programs internationally, including exhibitions in the Stedlijk Conemporary Museum of Art in Amsterdam. A permanent member of Platoon Kunsthalle, with numerous publications in journals, newsoutlets, books and internet media. He holds a variety of experiences in regards to work within the discipline of the arts and culture: as the artistic director of the Culture Center on the South Korean island of Nami, afterwhich he participated as a scenographer assistant in various theatrical productions as well as working on the scenography of the Beijing Expo 2008.

Currently Šanjević has found inspiration in reviving ancient paper through the help of the Ebru technique – also known as “The Art of Marbling” – in combination with digital print, in a contemporary expression of his spiritual experimentation and research into Shamanistic experiences that originate from Brazil and Peru.
